Dr. Collins Jaguga

Dr. Collins Jaguga is a pharmaceutical management specialist with twenty years’ experience in strategic management and technical leadership of pharmaceutical services and systems in sub-Saharan Africa. He has extensive experience in developing technical strategies, implementing, and managing public health programs in sixteen African countries. These are Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. His professional skills include implementation of national action plans on antimicrobial resistance (antimicrobial stewardship; infection prevention and control programs; categorization of antimicrobials into WHO access, watch and reserve (AWaRe) classification; regulatory systems strengthening and quality assurance of health products and technologies; pharmacovigilance and post marketing surveillance; national scheduling of medicines; regional multi-country pooled procurement mechanisms; country assessments of public health supply systems; development of national medicines formularies and essential medicines lists; procurement and supply chain management of health products; medicines and therapeutics committees and rational use of medicines; standards-based pharmaceutical management (accreditation of pharmaceutical services); organizational strategic management and project management. He is a Bachelor of Pharmacy graduate with a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy, a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management, and a Master of Science in Global Supply Chain Management
