Usha Lamichhane

Scientific Programme Officer at the Global AMR R&D Hub based in Berlin, Germany

Usha Lamichhane is a Scientific Programme Officer at the Global AMR R&D Hub based in Berlin, Germany. Her background is in microbiology and biophysics. She has previously worked in the Translocation project to increase the understanding on the overall permeability of drugs into bacteria under the New Drugs for Bad Bugs (ND4BB) Programme against AMR, an Innovative Medicines Initiative. The work was focused on antibiotic-resistant priority pathogens, mostly Gram-negative bacteria. She did a postgraduate study on international health from the Institute of Tropical Medicine and International Health at Charité – Universitäsmedizin Berlin before joining the Hub. She is passionate about increasing awareness and advocacy to mitigate the global antimicrobial resistance threat.
