Heather is a communications professional with a blend of experience in patient-focused healthcare settings and private life science R&D organisations. She has a particular interest in managing the effects of antimicrobial resistance and experience in being part of teams that create conditions for people to remain healthy, happy and economically active.
For the past decade she has worked together with biotechnology SMEs and academic intuitions who are developing and commercialising diagnostic devices and novel antimicrobial therapeutic interventions. Over this time her projects have included helping start-up and scale-up biotechnology companies to raise their public profile, develop their brand, understand potential customers’ needs and requirements, create relationships with potential business partners and raise funds. Heather completed her undergraduate and Master’s degrees in South Africa. She did an MBA in Exeter, UK and is currently completing an interdisciplinary PhD in computing and Psychology at the University of Dundee in Scotland.
