Dr. Oluchi Mbamalu is a Research Pharmacist at the Division of Infectious Diseases & HIV Medicine at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. She has experience in academia and pharmacy practice, as well as in mixed methods and field and laboratory research. Her current research interests explore barriers to diagnostic uptake to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR), pharmacists’ roles in stewardship and infection care, and drug shortage effect on AMR. Following her participation as a researcher on the multi-site ASPIRES1 study, she is currently lead investigator on the NRF-funded post-PhD research which explores opportunities for patient and wider stakeholder engagement for infection care.
